Students come together in HCM City for programming competition

The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest for the Ho Chi Minh City Region (ACM/ICPC) commenced on October 29.
The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest for the Ho ChiMinh City Region (ACM/ICPC) commenced on October 29.

As many as 316 Vietnamese students in 107 teams entered the competition.

The 10 top teams will represent Vietnam at the Asian qualifyinground for ACM/ICPC 2014 in Thailand from November 13-15.

The best Asian representatives will compete in the final round in Morocco in 2015.

On the same day, the 23 rd Vietnam Informatics Olympic Contest forStudents (OLP 2014) also started in Ho Chi Minh City , attractingnearly 400 students from 67 universities and colleges throughout thecountry.

The two competitions,jointly organised by the Ministry of Education and Training, the VietnamInformatics Association and the Industrial University of HCM City, willrun until October 31.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
