Hanoi (VNA)– Vietnam is willing to offer Sudanese military officers admission to itsNational Military Academy, Ltd. Gen. Pham Hong Huong said on July 11.
Huong, Deputy Chiefof the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army made the statement during areception for a Sudan’s military delegation, led by Major General MuatasimAhmed, in Hanoi.
The delegation’svisit was part of its training programme in several countries, includingVietnam.
At the meeting, Huonggave the delegation updates on Vietnam’s external affairs and militarypolicies.
Vietnam and Sudanhave maintained good relations but their ties in defence have yet to matchpotentials, he said, suggesting enhancing cooperation through exchange visitsof military delegations and army medical corps.
Maj. Gen. Admed, forhis part, said the visit provides his delegation an opportunity to learn moreabout Vietnam’s people and landscapes as well as the development of the VietnamPeople’s Army.
He hoped that thetwo nations will strengthen their bilateral ties in multiple fields, includingdefence.-VNA
