Sunwah Group conducts social activities in HCM City

Over 1,000 people participated in the “Sunwah and Friends Social Services and Creativity Day”, held by Sunwah Foundation, the public services arm of Sunwah Group, in Ho Chi Minh City on January 11.

Themed “Together We Care”, the programme encouraged people to workwith youth and children to carry out social initiatives across the city.

A series of social and cultural activities took place duringthe event, including an art exhibition showcasing 53 child-producedpieces of artwork and a marketing competition for students designed tofoster creativity and innovation.

In addition, the organisingboard also launched a number of projects to be implemented in 2015, suchas sending cards to child patients and providing meals to impoverishedpatients and their relatives.

Jonathan Choi, Chairman of SunwahGroup, pledged to contribute to Vietnam’s development through fosteringcross-sector investment cooperation and providing public and socialservices.

For his part, Chairman of the Vietnam Union ofFriendship Organisations’ HCM City chapter Le Hung Quoc attributed thecity’s socio-economic achievements to the significant role of foreignenterprises such as Sunwah, with numerous practical social programmes.

“Sunwah and Friends Social Services and Creativity Day” offereddiversified social activities and set a precedent for the socialresponsibility of large groups to the locality’s socio-economicdevelopment, Quoc added.

Over the past few years, Sunwah, aHong Kong-based Group, has organised numerous social projects; sponsorededucational, arts, and cultural programmes, and provided scholarshipsfor disabled Vietnamese children.-VNA
