Sustainable development businesses in 2020 announced

A total of 100 sustainable development businesses in Vietnam this year were honoured during an awards ceremony held in Hanoi on December 10, which was attended by Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh.

Hanoi (VNA) –🔥 A total of 100 sustainable development businesses in Vietnam this yearwere honoured during an awards ceremony held in Hanoi on December 10, which wasattended by Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh.

Organised by theVietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Vietnam Business Councilfor Sustainable Development (VBCSD) together with relevant ministries and theVietnam General Confederation of Labour, the event was designed to encourageand honour businesses which effectively carried out tasks in sustainabledevelopment in 2020. In his remarks, VCCIPresident Vu Tien Loc said that the Government welcomed positive impacts inpromoting the sustainable development of Vietnamese firms in the currentperiod, as important policies in the field were promulgated in the past twoyears. They all state the requirements in sustainable business assessment andapply the Corporate SustainabilityIndex (CSI) introduced by the VCCI. VCCI is mulling overother CSI versions for micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) andcorporations in developing countries, he added. As opportunities comealong with difficulties and challenges, domestic firms were advised to changetheir business mindset towards sustainable development, apply the CSI inbusiness governance and in their network of partners, in an attempt to enhanceresilience. Established by VCCI in2010, the VBCSD helps businesses and social organisations in Vietnam play apioneer role in sustainable development. It also serves as a bridge to bolsterclose collaboration in dialogue and connection between the business community,the Government and social partners./.

🌞 Maximum fine of 3,000 USD proposed for violating invoice regulations

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
