Hanoi (VNA) – PrimeMinister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has extended sympathy to his Thai counterpart PrayutChan-o-cha over great losses in humans and property caused by storms Podul and Kajikiand subsequent floods in Thailand’s northeastern, central and northern regions.

Deputy Prime Minister and ForeignMinister Pham Binh Minh also sent a message of sympathy to Thai Minister ofForeign Affairs Don Pramudwinai.

The Straits Times reported thatas consequences of the two tropical storms, since late last month, over 400,000households and more than 3,000 sq km of plantations in the regions have been damaged.

The total economic losses are notimmediately known, but according to Thailand’s Industry Ministry, damage tofactories has amounted to an estimated 133 million baht (4.3 million USD)./.
