Tay Ninh, Cambodian localities cooperate to fight border crime

Tay Ninh (VNA) – Leaders of police of the southernprovince of Tay Ninh and its three neighboring Cambodian provinces – SvayRieng, Tboung Khmum, and Prey Veng – signed a cooperative pact on border crimeprevention on March 28.
Under the document, the four localities, which share aborder line, will continue information exchanges on border crime and joint workamong their border forces.
The sides will join hands to facilitate local residents totravel for tourism, health care and trade in line with Vietnamese and Cambodianlaws.
They will work together to ensure border security, plantborder markers as scheduled, and tackle trans-border crime.
They are also committed to collaborating with other agenciesto boost communications activities to raise public awareness on the matter.
In the past time, the sides carried out regular meetings toexchange information and discuss join action plans. They have thus farcooperated to investigate 11 cases, arresting four suspects and seizing over16kg of drugs.-VNA
The southwestern province of Tay Ninh on September 12 started the building of five bridges in remote and border districts of Tan Chau, Chau Thanh and Hoa Thanh to support local people.
