Techfest 2017 to connect start-up ecosystem

The national innovation and start-up festival Techfest 2017 is going to take place under the theme “Start-up Ecosystem Connect” in Hanoi on November 14-15.

Hanoi (VNA) – The national innovation and start-upfestival Techfest 2017 is going to take place under the theme “Start-upEcosystem Connect” in Hanoi on November 14-15.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology TranVan Tung said at a press conference on October 31 that Techfest 2017 willgather domestic and foreign start-ups, accelerators and investors and connectthem through activities before, during and after this annual event. 

Major businesses which have gained certainsuccesses in the market can also find out creative solutions from start-upfirms, he added.

Techfest 2017 is expected to attract about 200start-ups and hundreds of Vietnamese and foreign investors, venture capitalfunds, big enterprises and start-up supporting organisations. It also hopes towelcome more than 4,000 visitors.

It features six technological areas divided intosix villages, namely Agritech Village, Edtech Village, Medtech Village, Tourismand F&B Village, Frontier and Fintech Village, and Emerging Tech Village,along with Community Village.

With diverse activities such as workshops andinnovative idea competitions, the villages will be attractive destinations forstart-ups, investors and supporting organisations, according to organisers.

A website will also be launched at this year’sevent with a view to connecting policy makers, ministries, sectors, localities,start-up incubators and start-up businesses.-VNA
