Binh Dinh (VNA) – The FPT Corprecently received approval to build an AI-education complex in Binh Dinhprovince.

Leaders of the Vietnamese information andcommunication technology giant met with local authorities in the south-centralcoastal on May 8.

At the working session, FPT chairman TruongGia Binh proposed Binh Dinh allot about 100 ha of land in Quy Nhon city for thegroup to construct an AI-technology-education urban complex and another 1 – 2 hato build a high school.

He said he wants to make Quy Nhon an AI hubof Vietnam.

Suggesting free land rent for educationalactivities, he asked authorities to soon licence FPT’s construction of itsschool and help the company enjoy the local preferential tax policy forhigh-tech industrial parks.

Binh also urged for cooperation in buildinge-governance, smart healthcare system and smart industrial parks in Binh Dinh.

Chairman of the provincial People’sCommittee Ho Quoc Dung stated Binh Dinh pays attention to the development ofscience and technology and of a high-quality workforce.

Binh Dinh will create the best conditionspossible for the FTP and other investors, he said, hoping that the cooperationwith the group will help his province develop its e-governance and smart citysystems and improve local administrative reform.

During the session, the sides signed amemorandum of understanding on investment cooperation concerning the FPT BinhDinh education-AI complex project.

Built at a cost of more than 4.65 trillionVND (198.8 million USD), the complex will span about 40 ha. The projectconsists of two phases. The first will be implemented on 5.3 ha in Quy Nhon’sBac Ha Thanh urban zone between now and 2021, and the second, on 34.7 ha in QuyNhon’s Long Van urban zone from 2021 to 2025.-VNA
