Ten rare monkeys released into the wild at Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park

Ten rescued monkeys have been released into Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in the central province of Quang Binh, according to the Centre for Rescue, Conservation and Creature Development under the park's management board.

QuangBinh (VNA) – Ten rescued monkeys have been released into PhongNha-Ke Bang National Park in the central province of Quang Binh, according tothe Centre for Rescue, Conservation and Creature Development under the park's management board.

🔴 Theanimals include five rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta) and five southern pig-tailedmacaque (Macaca leonina). They were voluntarily handed over by residents and relevant agencies. 

PhamKim Vuong from the centre's rescue section said these monkeys belong to IIBgroup in the list of endangered and rare species priorised for protection under the Government’s Decree 84/2021/ND-CP. Group IIB includes threatened and rare species and a permit is required for all purposes including scientific research, conservation and commercial exploitation.  The centre has so far this year released a total of 48 individuals ofendangered and rare wild animals that are listed in Vietnam and InternationalUnion for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) red books./.

🎃 Vietnam ramps up plastic waste recycling, reuse, treatment efforts

In 2019, Quang Ninh became one of the first localities in Vietnam to launch a province-wide campaign against plastic waste, mobilising the participation of the political system, the business sector, and the general public. Other localities—such as Hai Phong, Da Nang, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City—have also effectively implemented waste-sorting initiatives at source, along with models for plastic-free markets and urban areas.
