Thai Vietjet gets AOC recertification, announces Bangkok-Da Lat route

 Bangkok (VNA) – Thai Vietjet recently gotrecertified Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Authority ofThailand (CAAT).

The new certificate, bestowed to the airline by TransportMinister Arkhom Termpittayapaisit, is in line with International Civil AviationOrganisation (ICAO) standards.

Speaking at the ceremony on November 8, Nguyen Thi ThuyBinh, Thai Vietjet’s management representative, said: “We believe that therecertification will further reassure the confidence of travelers across theglobe in our services and the Thai airline industry as well”.

Arkhom Termpittayapaisit stated:  “Thai Vietjet is the 12th carrier to pass therecertification process since CAAT started to recertify the AOC for airlines. Ihave witnessed the airline’s dedication on preparing and improving itself tosuccessfully pass the overall operational standards of ICAO. And the new AOC, bestowed to Thai Vietjettoday, is a remarkable milestone for the carrier to further prove its safetyand services as it spreads its wings and continues to fly further and higher onthis journey of sustainable development."

On this occasion, the airline also announced a newinternational route from Bangkok to Vietnam’s Da Lat – known as the ‘City ofFlowers’ and a much loved mountainous retreat for local and internationaltravelers, particularly from Thailand.

Commencing on December 18, the new Bangkok-Da Lat route willbe operated by an Airbus A320 with four return flights per week, flying everyMonday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The flight departs at 10:45am fromBangkok and returns at 12:45pm from Da Lat with a flight time of one hour 45minutes. One way fares start from only 99 THB (3 USD) (excluding tax andcharges). Tickets are now available for booking at www.vietjetair.com.

Da Lat is the capital city of Lam Dong province, located inthe Lang Biang highlands – part of the Central Highlands region of Vietnam –1,500 meters above sea level. Boasting thick pine forests and verdant valleysof postcard beauty as well charming old French villas, beautiful waterfalls andgorgeous lakes, the city of Da Lat has become one of the most favoritedestinations in the country and the region, particularly when it comes towinter where flowers blossom in full colors all over the city. Therefore thecity is known to Vietnamese by many lovely names such as Little Paris, the Cityof Love, the City of Poetry, the Green City.

Following the newly-launched route to Da Lat, Thai Vietjetand Vietjet Group will operate a total of six direct routes between Thailandand Vietnam, including Bangkok to Hanoi/ Hai Phong/ Ho Chi Minh City and Da Latand Phuket/Chiang Mai to Ho Chi Minh City.-VNA
