Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The PT Grand Prix of Thailand 2024 is set to become a major fixture on the international motorsport calendar, taking place from October 25-27 at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram province.

The globally anticipated event is expected to draw over 800 million viewers across more than 200 countries.

Vice Minister for Tourism and Sports Phonpoom Vipattipumiprates recently outlined the substantial economic benefits of the MotoGP event, noting that it attracted nearly 180,000 spectators last year, boosted international tourist numbers by 11%, and generated over 4.5 billion THB in local spending.

Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand Gongsak Yodmani highlighted the growing popularity of the event, with ticket sales rapidly increasing each year. He praised the achievements of Thai racers such as Somkiat Chantra and Tatchakorn Buasri, who have gained recognition competing around the world.

Buriram Governor Narucha Kosacivilize said the race, set to create over 6,426 jobs, will also promote Thai agricultural heritage among visitors through the introduction of the “E-Tan Shuttle Service.”

Dorna Sports Senior Director of Global Sponsorship Ferran Juncar has welcomed PTG Energy Public Company Limited 𓄧as the new title sponsor, citing PT🎐G’s sufficient manpower and technology as a vital element to enhance the event's promotional efforts./.
