Thailand - Japan join hands on ICT development

Thailand’s Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) and Japan’s Ministry of International Affairs and Communications (MIC) have signed an agreement on joint ICT development under the Thailand - Japan Summit framework.

MICT Minister Pornchai Rujiprapa hasrevealed the outcome of the bilateral discussion with Japan’s MICMinister Sanae Takaichi on April 30 at the government house regardingboth countries' cooperation on the information and communicationtechnology (ICT) area.

At the meeting, the two countriesdiscussed cooperation in utilising ICT for disaster prevention, cybersecurity, postal service, public and private collaboration, and as wellas cooperation within the ASEAN framework.

Thailand and Japan have also signed a joint communiqué on ICT cooperation between both states.

ThailandMICT and Japan MIC have also held a joint discussion on ‘Thailand -Japan Public and Private sector ICT Joint Business Dialogue’ in Bangkokto encourage cooperation between the government and private sector. Theyalso exchanged expertise and opinions on ICT subjects.-VNA/NNT
