Bangkok (VNA) – Thailand is ready 🎶to carry out 24 projects worth 3.75 billion THB (about 103.8 million USD) in 2016 to promote a digital economy, according to the⛎ country’s Ministry of Information and Communications.

The ministry said those projects will develop a digital community network that will include the upgrade of 2,280 existing community ICT learning centres.
In the initial phase, 600 community centres will be upgraded under a 700 million THB (19.4 million USD) project. The second project will launch 10,000 new public internet access spots at a cost of almost 900 million THB (24.9 million USD).
Two other projects are set to promote the use of digital technology by small- and medium-sized enterprises and the development of online internal communications channels among all agencies. In October 2015, the Thai Government revealed a strategy to reform the economy towards a reduced dependence on exports while strengthening competitiveness with a greater emphasis on a digital economy.-VNA
