Bangkok (VNA) – Bank of Thailand (BOT) Governor Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput has expressed his concer🌄ns over the country’s economic outlook for 2025, citing the failure of the government’s cash handout scheme to boost consumption in the fourth quarter🌜 of 2024.

The governor estimated 2024 GDP growth at 2.7%. The official growth rate will be released on February 17.
Sethaput expects inflation to reach 1.1% this year, aligning with the BOT’s target range of 1-3%. However, he raised concerns about the volatility of the baht. The BOT's Monetary Policy Committee kept the policy interest rate steady at 2.25% in December, with the next meeting scheduled for February 26./.
