Thanh Hoa (VNA) – Police in the central province ofThanh Hoa on July 8 arrested two men trafficking 2kg of crystal myth and 4,000meth pills.
They are Luong Van Trac, born in 1987 and residing in TrungLy commune, Muong Lat district; and Ngo Truong Long, born in 1998, from QuangTrung commune, Ngoc Lac district, Thanh Hoa province.
Together with the above-said quantities of drugs, the menwere seized in Trung Ly commune with a gun, five mobile phones and otherobjects.
After expanding the probe, the local police arrested42-year-old Le Xuan Hien from Trung Son commune, Quan Hoa district, the sameprovince.
The arrested confessed that Trac bought the drugs from Laosat a price of 200 million VND (8,600 USD). He then, together with Long, smuggledthe drugs to localities for sale.
Three Lao nationals were caught red-handed trafficking 10 bricks of heroin, 31,000 meth pills, 2 kg of opium and four guns near the shared border with Vietnam on June 11.
Police in the northwestern border province of Son La have managed to tackle drug trafficking hot spots in Ta De and Lung Xa hamlets in Long Luong commune, Van Ho district, and eliminated several extremely dangerous criminals.
Police in the central province of Nghe An and the anti-drug unit of the Vietnam Coast Guard have smashed a drug ring, confiscating large quantities of drugs transported from Laos to Nghe An.
