Lang Son (VNA) – The third Vie൩tnam – China border defence friendship exchange is underway in the northern border province of Lang Son and the Chinese province of Guangxi on March 28-31.

During a seminar held in Lang Son on March 28, Deputy Defence Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh called for active and proactive involvement of local authorities and close coordination among border defence forces to build a borderline of peace and friendship, thereby facilitating economic development.
The exchange is meant to foster trust, friendship and solidarity between the two peoples and armies in general, and border people and border defence forces in particular, while fighting wrongful allegations by hostile forces, he said. Deputy Chief of the General Staff Department of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Qi Jianguo, for his part, hailed the two countries for lifting bilateral ties to a greater height, saying that joint work between their border soldiers is laying a solid foundation for Vietnam – China relations.
Reports delivered to the event expressed appreciation for the exchange, considering it a bridge of friendship and warm sentiment between the two peoples and border defence forces. Both sides were also determined to build a borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation and long-term development, with a view to developing the Vietnam - China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in a practical, stable and sustainable manner.-VNA
