Hanoi, (VNA) – An internationalcuisine festival, the fifth of its kind, held by the Foreign Ministry’s Bureauof Diplomatic Corps Services in Hanoi on December 10 attracted thousands ofvisitors.

Deputy Foreign Minister NguyenQuoc Dung, Ambassador Nguyen Nguyet Nga and many foreign ambassadors joined thecrowd to enjoy unique dishes from various countries and different regions inVietnam.

Opening the event, AmbassadorNguyen Nguyet Nga, who is spouse of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign MinisterPham Binh Minh, said the festival wants to create a platform for exchange amongforeign diplomats, visitors and Vietnamese, thus enhancing mutualunderstanding.

Among the 120 booths at thefestival, 35 were run by foreign embassies in Vietnam. Besides food,handicrafts and local specialties were also available along with folk artperformances, with proceedings going to charity.

The organising board of theevent presented 200 million VND to the Binh Thuan kindergarten in the northernmountainous province of Yen Bai, which was damaged by recent flooding, and 10gifts to orphans at the Vi ngay mai charity centre.-VNA
