Three deaths of dengue fever reported so far in 2018

As many as 14,079 dengue fever cases with three deaths have been reported so far this year across the country, a drop of 37.2 percent compared to the same period last year.

Hanoi (VNA) –As many as 14,079 dengue fever cases with three deaths have been reported sofar this year across the country, a drop of 37.2 percent compared to the sameperiod last year.

The deaths wererecorded in the southern provinces of Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc and the MekongDelta province of Ca Mau.

Last week, 24localities were seen no dengue fever cases, while the number of infections fellor remain the same compared to the previous week. Only Binh Duong provincereported a rise of six cases during the reviewed period.

The Department ofPreventive Medicine forecast that the disease may continue developing complicatedlyin the coming time if preventive measures are not implemented drastically.

Vietnam experienced aboom of dengue fever in 2017 when 181,054 infection cases and 30 deaths werereported in almost all localities, mostly Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

People are advised tokill mosquitoes and larvae and eliminate their shelters, and protect themselvesfrom mosquito by sleeping in mosquito nets.-VNA

Vietnam, 🐈France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
