Vietnam had three imported COVID-19 cases to report on September 28, bringing the national count to 1,077, announced the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Hanoi (VNA) – 🌳Vietnam hadthree imported COVID-19 cases to report on September 28, bringing the nationalcount to 1,077, announced the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
Two of the new cases are experts from Taiwan (China)who entered Vietnam through Huu Nghi border gate in the northern province ofLang Son on September. The other one is an Indian expert arrivingin Hanoi on a September 13 flight. They were quarantined immediately afterarrival and currently receive treatment at the Hanoi-based National Hospitalfor Tropical Diseases. Of all the cases, 691 were locally-transmitted, including 551 linked with Da Nang city since the latest coronavirus wavehit the locality on July 25. As many as 999 patients have recoveredwhile the fatalities remain at 35. Most of the fatalities were the elderly withserious underlying health conditions. Among the patients still under treatment,two have tested negative for the virus once, four twice and 13 thrice. There are 16,829 people having closecontact with confirmed cases or coming from the pandemic-hit regions underquarantine at present. As the COVID-19 pandemic can return at anytime, the Ministry of Health recommended people wear face masks in crowdedplaces, and wash hands with soap or hand sanitiser regularly./.
