Tourist visa extensions to be made easier

The Government Office has announced Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam’s intention to rectify difficulties facing tourists applying for Vietnamese visa extensions.
The Government Office has announced Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam’sintention to rectify difficulties facing tourists applying forVietnamese visa extensions.

The Deputy PM has askedthe Ministry of Public Security to work with the Ministry of Culture,Sports and Tourism (MoCST) and other relevant bodies to facilitate therenewal of visiting permits by 15 days for tourists hailing fromcountries which allow Vietnamese people to enter without visas.

He has also requested the MoCST to strengthen its supervision ofinternational tourism agencies in guaranteeing and managing theirtourists in their extended visa period.

The ministryis also to develop a proposal for a Tourism Development Assistance Fundand another on increasing the number of countries enjoying Vietnam’svisa exemption which it will submit to the Prime Minister for approvalby June. It will prioritise supporting tourist markets with highpotential and visitors from Vietnam’s strategic partners.

The Ministry of Finance has been requested to accelerate the updating of relevant legal documents to facilitate this process.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
