Tra Vinh sees strong increase in newly registered firms

Newly registered businesses in the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh have sharply increased since the start of the year, said the provincial People’s Committee.

Tra Vinh (VNA)ꦦ – Newlyregistered businesses in the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh have sharplyincreased since the start of the year, said the provincial People’s Committee.

Of the newly registered businesses, 35 weregranted approval, tripling last year’s figure. Meanwhile, 52 billion VND (2.29million USD) was added to 60 existing businesses.

Dong Van Lam, Chairman of the provincialPeople’s Committee, said to create a favourable investment climate, Tra Vinhprovince has implemented synchronous measures to improve its provincialcompetitiveness index. Local authorities hold monthly meetings with businessesto address their troubles.

The province has promoted the implementationof government’s resolution on developing businesses by 2020 and mulled over aproject providing support for local start-ups in 2017-2020. In addition, it hasenhanced investment promotion activities and administrative reform.

﷽ Tra Vinh is currently home to 1,948businesses and 1,100 affiliates, with total registered capital of over 25.13trillion VND (1.1 billion USD), generating jobs for more than 86,000 labourers.It aims to lure 4,000 new investors by 2020 and 7,500 ones by 2025.-VNA
