Tsunami warning stations to be constructed

Hanoi (VNA) – The Department of Water Resources has announced its plan to build early-warning stations for tsun🌳amis along c𒈔oastal localities.

Under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Decision 2195, the blueprint specifies the construction of 532 stations in 13 coastal cities and provinces from central Ha Tinh province to southern Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.
The stations will be either built or integrated with base transceiver stations, firm buildings or communal radio stations.
In the first phase of the project, 281 warning systems are scheduled to be erected in the most vulnerable areas – Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan. In the second phase, the remaining facilities will come to Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Binh Thuan and Ba Ria-Vung Tau.-VNA

In 2019, Quang Ninh became one of the first localities in Vietnam to launch a province-wide campaign against plastic waste, mobilising the participation of the political system, the business sector, and the general public. Other localities—such as Hai Phong, Da Nang, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City—have also effectively implemented waste-sorting initiatives at source, along with models for plastic-free markets and urban areas.
