Tuyen Quang to host biggest street festival

The northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang will hold the Tuyen Quang City Festival from September 5-7, with the participation of performance troupes from the Republic of Korea, Laos, China and Belarus.
The northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang will hold the TuyenQuang City Festival from September 5-7, with the participation ofperformance troupes from the Republic of Korea, Laos, China and Belarus.

The street event will entail a range of activities, such assport competitions and musical performances, looking to promote theprovince’s cultural and historical value, as well as attract tourists.

A parade of large, beautiful locally-made lanterns will formpart of the Tuyen Quang City Festival which is held annually, often onthe occasion of the Mid -Autumn Festival of children.

Giantlantern – an indispensible object enticing children during theirfestival, has contributed to the naming of the Tuyen Quang City Festivalas the one having the biggest lanterns by the Vietnam Guinness Book.
Tuyen Quang has more than 300 places of interest, including thenationally important sites of Tan Trao, Kim Binh, Kim Quan, and LangNgoi – Da Ban.

Steeped in revolutionary history and diverseethnic cultures, Tuyen Quang is celebrated as a place of culturalexchange for ethnic minorities in the North, and is featured intraditional festivals, legends and folksongs.-VNA
