Hanoi (VNA)🧔 – Tropical Storm Trami made landfall in the Philippines' main island of Luzon early morning of October 23, forcing schools and government offices to shut down for a second straight day.

According to the Philippines’ national weather agency, as of 8 am on October 24 (local time), the typhoon, with maximum sustained winds of 95 km per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 160 kph, is moving westward across Isabela province towards the East Sea. It warned of heavy to intense rainfall, flooding, landslides, and storm surge in some northern provinces.
Earlier, on October 24, authorities in the Philippines reported that the storm has killed at least 14 people as it barreled towards the country, including 12 in central Naga city. Thousands of residents in central Bicol region have fled from their homes as floodwaters reached as high as the roofs of bungalows.
The country's central bank canceled foreign exchange trading and monetary operations. About 20 tropical storms hit the Philippines annually, causing huge losses in property and human lives./.
