Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam will leave for China’s Asian U23Football Championship on January 1, eight days before the tournament begins.

The 28 players, who gathered together on December 25, willtrain in Hanoi for nearly a week before coach Park Hang-seo picks 23 players tocompete at the event.

Vietnam will stay in Jiangsu province and play a friendlyagainst Palestine as a final warm-up on January 4.

The championship is from January 9-27 with the participationof 16 teams.

Vietnam are in Group D with powerhouses the Republic of Korea,Australia and Syria.-VNA
