UPU letter-writing contest launched in Hanoi

The 43rd Universal Postal Union (UPU) International Letter Writing Contest kicked off in Hanoi on October 9, with the theme “Write a letter about how music can touch lives”.

The international contest opens every year for students from 10-15 years old.

It aims at improving children’s knowledge about global social issues,the solidarity and friendship between nations, as well as developingtheir writing skills and awareness of the important role postal servicesplay in society.

The original version andtranslation into English or French of the best letter in Vietnamwill be sent for global contest.

In Vietnam, the UPU writing contest receives nearly one million entries every year.

Last year, seventh grader Dao Thuy Thuy Duong from Tay SonJunior High School in the central city of Da Nang won theincentive award at the international contest./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
