HCM City (VNA)🍰 – Artists from Washington State University will perform in two festive season concerts at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music on December 18-19, reported Sai Gon Giai Phong (Liberated Sai Gon) newspaper.

The concert Season’s greetings on December 18 will feature special guest Dr. Gerald Berthiaume who will play the solo piano part in “Rhapsody in Blue” of George Gershwin.
It will be under the baton of conductor Dr. Danh Pham, Director of Bands at Washington State University. “Rhapsody in Blue” is one of America’s most prominent works for piano and orchestra which mixes jazz into classical music and has captivated music lovers worldwide.
Spectators to the concert “Duo Tuba & Piano” on December 19 can enjoy modern pieces in solo and duo performed by two guest artists from Washington State University: pianist Dr. Gerald Berthiaume and tuba player Dr. Chris Dickey. Dr. Gerald Berthiaume is Professor of Music at Washington State University and served as Director of the School of Music from 2003 to 2011. Dr. Chris Dickey, a Miraphone Performing Artist, is an emerging artist-teacher in the US. Currently, he is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Music at Washington State University.-VNA
