💙– TheAmerican Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AMCHAM Vietnam) and Intel ProductsVietnam company presented medical supplies to the 115 Emergency Centre in HoChi Minh City at a ceremony on July 21.

The supplies included an ambulanceand specialised equipment worth over 2.2 billion VND (95,600 USD). Speaking at the ceremony,Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City To ThiBich Chau thanked the AMCHAM Vietnam for joining hands with Ho Chi Minh City inthe fight against COVID-19. She also spoke highly of medicalcooperation between the US and Vietnam, including the role of the US Centresfor Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the US Agency for InternationalDevelopment. Deputy Director of the CDC office inHo Chi Minh City Amy Bailey, for her part, congratulated Vietnam on itspositive achievements in COVID-19 control. Bailey said AMCHAM Vietnam’spresentation of medical supplies to Ho Chi Minh City is a vivid symbol of USfirms’ core community value. She also wished that ties between the two countrieswill be increasingly closer./.

A 2023 report by the Vietnam Health Economics Association estimated that the total cost of tobacco-related healthcare and economic losses reached 108 trillion VND (4.14 billion USD) annually – equivalent to 1.14% of GDP and five times higher than the budget revenue generated by the tobacco industry.

ཧ Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
