Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – The Hue Central Hospital in the centralprovince of Thua Thien-Hue on August 10 launched its Expanded Infection Controland Investigation Unit (EICI) sponsored by PATH, an US non-profitorganisation targeting improvement of public health.

EICI is set up through the project on establishing andoperating an expanded infection control and investigation unit at the HueCentral Hospital, which has a total budget of nearly 3.4 billion VND (145,300USD) and is implemented from May 2022 to May 2024.

The unit's activities are expected to contribute toimproving the capacity of the hospital and other medical facilities in theregion for early detection, response and control of outbreaks of nosocomialinfections, including antibiotic resistance and other emerging infectiousdiseases.

Dr. Nguyen To Nhu, Director of PATH Vietnam, said that PATHand the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC US) will bringtechnical methods and training programmes to improve the capacity of humanresources with a new and scientific way of doing suitable to Vietnam'sconditions to better support infection and disease control in hospitals./.

ও Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
