Phnom Penh (VNA) - Cambodian journalist Khieu Kola has expressed his great honour to attend the upcoming grand celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification - a historic event for the 100 million heroic Vietnamese people, who have worked together and fought for national liberation under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The Advisor to the President of the Cambodia Journalists' Club (CCJ) and Senior Editor at the CNC television channel under Royal Group was the only Cambodian journalist attending the Press Week held for foreign reporters from April 25 to May 1 within the framework of the programme.

In an interview with Vietnam News Agency reporters in Phnom Penh before traveling to Vietnam, the veteran journalist expressed his deep emotions when returning to Ho Chi Minh City for the second time to participate in the event commemorating the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, at the invitation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia. Thirty years ago, he had an opportunity to attend celebration activities of the 20th anniversary.

During this business trip to Vietnam, the veteran Cambodian journalist expressed a desire to visit the metro line in Ho Chi Minh City, to compare it with metro systems he had experienced in Singapore, Thailand, and other countries.

According to him, beyond the metro system, Vietnam is undergoing a transformation with many other large-scale infrastructure projects, such as airports, expressways, and high-speed rail.
