Vice President visits Ha Tinh following storm Doksuri

Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh has hailed authorities of central Ha Tinh province for directing efforts to minimise losses caused by the recent tropical storm Doksuri.

Ha Tinh (VNA) – Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh hailed authorities ofcentral Ha Tinh province for directing efforts to minimise losses caused by therecent tropical storm Doksuri during a local working session on September 26. 

Before the arrivalof the disaster, they urged vessels to anchor in safety ground and mobilisedforces to work with farmers to promptly harvest summer-autumn crops.

Electricityand water supplies, communications services as well as schools have beentemporarily restored.

Theprovincial authorities reported that two people were dead and 72 were injuredfollowing the disaster which unroofed 94,811 houses; destroyed 22km of dykes,canals and 66km of roads, damaged 1,649ha of vegetables and 944.3ha of fruittrees. The total loss is estimated at over 6.61 trillion VND (287.3 millionUSD).

The same day, Thinh and her entourage visited andpresented gifts to family of a dead victim in Son Loc commune, Can Loc districtand four others suffering serious losses in Ky Lac commune, Ky Anhdistrict.-VNA
