TienGiang (VNA) –
Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh on September 4 visitedpolicy beneficiaries in Hau My Bac B and Tan Phu communes in the Mekong Deltaprovince of Tien Giang.

AsChairwoman of the Sponsorship Council of the National Fund for VietnameseChildren (NFVC), Thinh presented scholarships worth 1 million VND (43 USD) eachto 50 extremely disadvantaged children in Hau My Bac B commune, Cai Bedistrict, which are sourced from the NFVC and donations.

Onthe occasion, a bridge linking the two hamlets of My Trung and Hau Quoi of thecommune was inaugurated, which was built with a funding of  800 million VND provided by the NFVC togetherwith Grab ride-hailing company.

Thenew bridge is hoped to create favourable conditions for local students to go toschool ahead the 2020-2021 academic year and contribute to socio-economicdevelopment of the commune in particular and Dong Thap Muoi sub-region coveringthe three provinces of Tien Giang, Dong Thap and Long An.

TheVice President also visited Heroic Mother Pham Thi Tuoi in Tan Phu commune, CaiLay township, and offered cash and kind to 30 other policy beneficiaries, alongwith 50 scholarships worth 1 million VND each and 30 bicycles to poorstudents./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
