Vientiane, Hanoi work to bolster affiliation

During his talks with Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee NguyenThe Thao in Hanoi on October 24, the Vientiane leader also asked forHanoi’s cooperation in the consumption of farm products, tourism andpersonnel training as well.

That assistance isnecessary, Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune said, reasoning that Vientiane isdealing with decreasing budget collection and complicated socialproblems, among others.

Thao assured his guest thatHanoi will do its utmost to reinforce its traditional friendship withVientiane since it always prioritises expanding its affiliation with thecity.

The two capitals have recently enjoyedflourishing relations and their trust and closeness is growing, Thaosaid, referring to the implementation of cooperation programmes in theeconomy, culture, education, agriculture and forestry.

He introduced orientations for future bilateral ties, laying anemphasis on accelerating multi-faceted cooperation and adjustingmechanisms and policies to better the execution of signed agreements andthose to be inked.

Hanoi has established friendlyand cooperative ties with over 100 capitals and cities across the world.It has set up trade and investment partnerships with 187 countries andterritories.

Also on October 24, the Vientiane guestwas received by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Secretary ofHanoi’s Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi.-VNA
