Vietnam Airlines, Air France sign code-sharing contract

Vietnam Airlines and Air France have signed a code sharing contract that will allow passengers to have six more flights a week from Vietnam to Paris.
Vietnam Airlines and Air France havesigned a code sharing contract that will allow passengers to have sixmore flights a week from Vietnam to Paris.

According to Vietnam Airlines, the additional flights from Hanoi andHo Chi Minh City to Paris with transit via Bangkok, Thailand,will start operation from July 3.

Air France will use Airbus A340-300 aircraft for the flights, of whichthree will depart from Hanoi on every Monday, Thursday and Saturdayand the remaining three from Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday, Fridayand Sunday.

The airline also plans to resume direct flights from Ho Chi Minh Cityto Paris, with three flights a week, using Boeing 747-400ERaircraft.

With the newly-inked contract, there will be six flights from Ho ChiMinh City and five from Hanoi to Paris every week by Novemberthis year.

Air France is one of the largest airlines in the world and a founderof SkyTeam, a global airline alliance. Vietnam Airlines’ possiblejoining SkyTeam this June promises closer cooperation between the twoairlines./.
