Vietnam Airlines starts selling tickets on HCM City-Quang Ninh route

Quang Ninh (VNA) – National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines began selling tickets on the routebetween the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City in thesouth on November 29.

The first commercialflight on the route will take off on December 30. The daily flight uses A321airplane with 184 seats, 16 of which are business class.

It departs from TanSon Nhat Airport at 14:00 and arrives at Van Don Airport on 16:05. The returnflight takes off at 16:45 and lands in HCM City on 18:50.

Promotion ticket faresfor the economic class are from 800,000 VND (34.4 USD) per leg (exclusive oftax and fees). Currently, tickets have been available in all agents of VietnamAirlines, but yet online.

Construction on VanDon International Airport, the first of its kind in Vietnam invested by aprivate investor – SunGroup, started in 2015 with total investment of 7.5trillion VND (330 million USD).

Covering 288ha, theairport accommodates support facilities, a two-module terminal and functionalareas.

Under a Marchdecision by the Ministry of Transport, Van Don will be an internationalairport, serving both civilian and military flights with a 3.6km-long runway.The airport will have an annual capacity of about 2 million passengers by 2020,which will increase to 5 million by 2030.

Van Don district ofQuang Ninh is among three special economic zones planned in the country, theairport is expected to boost the local economy, including tourism atworld-famous Ha Long Bay. -VNA
