Vietnam Airlines to increase flights to Indonesia for football fans

Vietnam Airlines will add three flights to Jakarta on August 29 to carry local fans to Indonesia for the ASIAD semifinal match between the male football teams of Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK), according to the national flag carrier.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam Airlines will add three flightsto Jakarta on August 29 to carry local fans to Indonesia for the ASIAD semifinalmatch between the male football teams of Vietnam and the Republic of Korea(RoK), according to the national flag carrier.

The airline will conduct two direct flights to Jakarta fromHanoi and the central city of Da Nang, and add another return flight between HoChi Minh City and the Indonesian capital city, raising the total number offlights between the two countries into four. All the flights will use A321aircraft.

It will also coordinate with several travel companies inHanoi, Da Nang and HCM City to offer package tours to Indonesia on the day.

Vietnam won a ticket to the semifinals of the ongoing ASIAD2018 after defeating Syria 1-0 in the quarterfinal match on August 27. Vietnam will meet the RoK in thesemifinals at 4 pm on August 29.

The Asian Games is the world’ssecond biggest multiple sports event (after the Olympics). This year’s edition,held in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, has drawn 16,000 competitors andofficials from 45 countries and territories.-VNA
