A Vietnamese delegation attended a seminar themed “Smart Learning for the Future of Asia” as part of the Asia Education Expo 2013 which took place in Singapore on November 20–22.

Sharing the view that education is the mostimportant factor in national socio-economic development of everycountry, speakers focused discussions on the 21 st century challengeswhich the sector faces and its most recent methodological and practicalattempts at adaptation.

Associate Professor Dr Nguyen XuanThanh, Vice Director of the Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training’sDepartment of Secondary Education, said the seminar was of greatsignificance to Vietnamese education administrators and teachers

He highlighted the education reform debates, applicable to Vietnam, that combine questions of teaching content and language.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
