Vietnam attends second Asia-Europe Political Forum

Vietnam actively joined in discussions of the second Meeting of the Asia-Europe Political Forum and the 30th Meeting of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties, which took place on May 17-19 in London, the UK.

London (VNA) – Vietnam actively joined in discussions of the secondMeeting of the Asia-Europe Political Forum (AEPF) and the 30th Meeting of the InternationalConference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) Standing Committee, which tookplace on May 17-19 in London, the UK.

The Vietnamesedelegation was led by Vice Chairman of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Nguyen Manh Cuong.

Representatives frompolitical parties focused their discussions on the Asia-Europe partnership and therole of political parties in regional cooperation and connectivity.

Cooperation in low-cost clean energy develoജpment, reduction of climate changeimpacts, prevention of environmental degradation and disaster relief𓆏, alongwith major epidemics prevention were also on the agenda.

Participantsaffirmed the importance of political parties in building a solid and consensualpolitical foundation for countries’ cooperation, as well as the AEPF’s role increating mechanisms for discussing issues of mutual concerns and cooperationimprovement to bolster the two continents’ security and prosperity.

They stressed that political parties’ collaboration will contribute to solvingregional and global challenges, including those on security, development andclimate change.

The AEPF adopted the London Statement while the ICAPP Stand💛ing Committeeapproved an action🐼 plan for the ICAPP.-VNA
