Vietnam-Cambodia trade fair opens

A Vietnam-Cambodia trade fair opened in the Cambodian capital city Phnom Penh on November 14, offering a venue to businesses of the two countries to meet and seek partners.

The event, thesixth of its kind so far, is jointly organised by the Ministry ofDefence and Ministry of Industry and Trade on the Vietnamese side andthe Cambodian Ministry of Defence.

More than 150enterprises are showcasing a wide range of products at nearly 300booths, including textile and garment, leather and footwear,agro-forestry-aquatic products, electric-electronic goods, chemicals,construction materials, fertilizers and plant and animal varieties.

Participating businesses have also donated gifts to Cambodian war invalids and a training school of the Cambodian army.

The fair will open through November 18 as part of Vietnam ’s effortto assist its businesses in promoting exports to Cambodia and otherASEAN markets.

Statistics provided by the Trade Counsellor atthe Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia show that bilateral trade betweenVietnam and Cambodia has constantly increased, reaching 3.3 billion USDlast year and 2.6 billion USD in the first nine months of this year. Thefigure for the entire 2013 is estimated at 3.5 billion USD.-VNA

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
