Vietnam-China youth seminar spotlights innovation, digital transformation

HCM City (VNA) – The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee held a seminar in Ho Chi Minh City on April 16 to explore innovative approaches to youth union activities, as part of the 24th Vietnam-China Youth Friendship Meeting 2025.

The event spotlighted the role of digital technology in youth movements, ideological guidance, and international exchanges. Vietnamese and Chinese youth delegates shared insights and best practices, fostering deeper friendship and cooperation between the two nations’ youth organisations in today’s dynamic era.

In his speech, First Secretary of the HCYU Central Committee Bui Quang Huy highlighted the considerable achievements that Vietnam and China have attained in recent years, which have elevated their reputation on the global stage.

He credited the proactive and pioneering role of youth, guided by their respective Parties, for translating Party resolutions into tangible societal impact. Yet, Huy also warned of shared challenges facing both nations’ youth movements, including a volatile global environment, erosion of cultural identity, and population aging.

First Secretary of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) Central Committee A Dong underlined China’s focus on critical youth issues such as employment and mental health, while strengthening the CYLC’s organisational and ideological leadership.

Tran Thu Ha, Vice President of the Vietnam National Union of Students, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Youth Union, and President of the municipal Student Association, stressed that the local Youth Union is deeply aware of the pivotal role of digital transformation, in line with the goals set out in the Politburo’s Resolution on advancing sci-tech, innovation, and national digital transformation./.
