Vietnam comes second at Southeast Asia junior athletic tourney

The Vietnamese team was ranked second at the 4th Southeast Asian Junior Athletics Championships with 10 gold, 7 silver and 13 bronze medals.

The Vietnamese team was ranked second at the 4th Southeast Asian Junior Athletics Championships with 10 gold, 7 silver and 13 bronze medals.

After two-day competitions at the Thong Nhat stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, the tournament wrapped up on June 7 with the championship going to Thailand whose athletes won 14 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals.

Vietnamese athletes excelled in men’s 200m and 3,000m race, women’s high-jump, long-jump and women’s 200m and 800m running.

The tournamentꦇ, which offers 30 sets of medals, drew the participation of 172 athletes from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia,♔ Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia, Brunei and Vietnam./.
