Vietnam congratulates newly-elected leaders of South Africa

The sameday, Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan extended hercongratulations to newly-elected Speaker of theNA of South Africa Thandi Modise.
DeputyPrime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh also sent hiscongratulations to Grace Naledi Mandisa Pandor on her appointment as thecountry’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation.
The two nations set up diplomatic relations in 1993.
South Africa retained its top position among African tradepartners of Vietnam in 2018, with bilateral trade topping 1.1 billion USD, up11.7 percent from 2017 and accounting for 16 percent of total trade betweenVietnam and African countries.-VNA
The news agency of the South African Government on March 17 reported on the fourth meeting of the South Africa-Vietnam Intergovernmental Partnership Forum in Pretoria on March 14-15, underlining that the two countries had agreed to do more to enhance their trade ties.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT)’s Department of Asian-African Markets will hold a trade promotion trip to South Africa to display goods at wholesale and retail supermarkets from May 8-16.
The Department of Asian-African Markets under the Ministry of Industry and Trade plans to organise a business delegation to South Africa from May 8-16 where they will introduce Vietnamese agricultural products at local supermarkets.
