Vietnam continues working with China, other countries in COVID-19 fight

Vietnam will continue working closely with China and other countries to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic, and is willing to share experience of treatment, Vice Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry Doan Khac Viet said on February 20.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam willcontinue working closely with China and other countries to prevent the spreadof the COVID-19 epidemic, and is willing to share experience of treatment, ViceSpokesperson of the Foreign Ministry Doan Khac Viet said on February 20.

He made the statement at the regular pressconference of the ministry in Hanoi, in reply to reporters’ queries in regardsto China’s measures to tackle the disease and their efficiency.

The vice spokesperson stressed that Vietnamhighly values efforts of the Chinese government and people to curb and controlthe disease.

“We believe that under the leadership ofthe Communist Party and the Government of China, along with the support ofinternational community, the Chinese people will surmount this difficulty, andthe epidemic in China and other countries and territories will be put undercontrol,” Viet said.

He added that Vietnam has kept a closewatch on the situation in countries with COVID-19 outbreaks.

Following an order of the Ministry ofForeign Affairs, Vietnam’s representative offices abroad regularly update on epidemicsituation, announce their hotlines and stay in touch with Vietnamese citizenswhile standing ready to take citizen protection measures when necessary,according to the vice spokesperson.

He affirmed that aside from one confirmedcase in China, no Vietnamese citizen in other country is tested positive withthe coronavirus.

Regarding this case, the female patient isbeing treated at a hospital in China’s Jiangxi province and her health isimproving, the vice spokesperson noted./.
