Vietnam, Czech Republic exchange experience in social welfare policies

Vo Van Phuong, deputy head of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, has paid a visit to the Czech Republic for experience exchange in developing social welfare policies.
Prague (VNA) – Vo Van Phuong, deputy headof the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Commission forInformation and Education, has paid a visit to the Czech Republic forexperience exchange in developing social welfare policies.

During his stay from September 19 – 20, Phuong had ameeting with Vice Chairwoman of the Czech Chamber of Deputies’ Committee onSocial Policy Lucie Safrankova during which the two sides discussed policiesfor retirees and those on social welfare, women’s rights and housing.

Safrankova shared her views about population decline,population ageing, falling birth rate, labour shortage and gender pay gap. Toaddress these issues, the Czech Government has adopted a number of solutions, suchas increasing level of insurance and pension for retired people, raisingretirement age, and providing jobs for the retirees, she said.

She also spoke highly of the Vietnamese community in the CzechRepublic, saying they are very hard-working, dynamic and friendly who have madegreat contributions to the local society.

Phuong also visited the Embassy of Vietnam and theVietnamese association in the Czech Republic to learn about the thoughts andwishes of overseas Vietnamese.

He vowed to work with relevant state agencies to supportthe Vietnamese community in the European country. –VNA
