Vietnam Esperanto Association targets young member development in new tenure

The Vietnam Esperanto Association (VEA) will strive to attract more young members during the 2018-2023 tenure, heard the sixth Vietnam Esperanto Congress in Hanoi on December 28.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Esperanto Association (VEA) will striveto attract more young members during the 2018-2023 tenure, heard the sixthVietnam Esperanto Congress in Hanoi on December 28.

In the period, the association will openmore Esperanto classes at universities, especially the Vietnam NationalUniversity, Hanoi.

It will also prepare to successfullyorganise the ninth Asia-Pacific Congress of Esperanto from April 29-May 3,2019, in the central city of Da Nang, thus creating favourable conditions todevelop the association and promote the image of the central city in particularand the country in general to international friends.

At the event, Nguyen Van Loi was re-electedPresident of the VEA for the 2018-2023 tenure.

Deputy head of the multilateral work departmentunder the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Dong Huy Cuong saidthat in 2019, VUFO will coordinate closely with the VEA in its activities,particularly the organisation of the ninth Asia-Pacific Congress of Esperanto.

He granted the VUFO’s “For Peace andFriendship among Nations” insignia and certificate of merits to outstandingindividuals and collectives for their contributions to the association’soperations in the 2013-2018 tenure.

Established on December 9, 1956, the VEAcurrently has about 200 members.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
