President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) CentralCommittee Tran Thanh Man sent a letter of greeting to Buddhist dignitaries andfollowers on the occasion of Lord Buddha’s 2564th birthday.

Man extended hisbest wishes to Buddhist followers nationwide and expressed his appreciation of theirjoint efforts in the country’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and theirfollowing of disease prevention and control regulations.

Lord Buddha’sbirthday this year takes place amid a range of other major events, he noted,such as the 45th anniversary of the liberation of Vietnam’s south and NationalReunification Day, International Labour Day, and the 130th birthday of latePresident Ho Chi Minh.

He asked that the VietnamBuddhist Sangha and Buddhist dignitaries and followers continue promoting thestrength of great national unity and join hands with nations to defeat theCOVID-19 pandemic, boost socioeconomic development, ensure defence andsecurity, and increase Vietnam’s regional and international profile./.
