Vietnam-France friendship association holds 7th congress
The 7th congress of the Vietnam-France Friendship and Cooperation Association took place in Hanoi on March 17 to review its operation in the past tenure, elect a new leadership, and set out orientations and tasks serving the 2023-2028 tenure.

Hanoi (VNA) – The 7th congress of the Vietnam-France Friendship and Cooperation Association took place in Hanoi on March 17 to review its operation in the past tenure, elect a new leadership, and set out orientations and tasks serving the 2023-2028 tenure.
The function elected Nguyen Thuy Anh, member of the Party Central Committee and the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee and Chairwoman of the NA’s Committee of Social Affairs, as the president. She was among 50 key executive, management, and inspection positions elected at the event.
In her remarks, Anh expressed her honour for being given such a great responsibility and pledged to do her best to complete the tasks set out at the congress, contributing to enhancement of the association’s performance in the time to come.
French Ambassador to Vietnam Nicolas Warnery held that over the past time, Vietnamese and French leaders have always affirmed their desire for strong development relations.
The bilateral strategic partnership is clearly demonstrated in high-level visits by generations of their leaders and in many fields of cooperation from politics, security, economy, education, and health, the diplomat affirmed. The friendship association plays a very important role conducive to such outcomes, he said.
President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga lauded achievements the association has made in the past tenure and recommended it focus on proposing ideas and building an action plan serving people-to-people exchange in the new tenure./.
