Vietnam, France review their friendship years

The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) and the Vietnam–France Friendship and Cooperation Association held a meeting in Hanoi on December 27 to round off the friendship years between the two countries.

Nguyen Huy Quang, Chairman of the association, andFrench Ambassador to Vietnam Jean Noel Poirier highlighted the Franceyear in Vietnam in 2013 and the Vietnam year in France in 2014, sayingthat they contributed to increasing friendship and cooperation betweenthe two peoples and left a strong impression on their people, especiallythe youth.

The years covered 270 events, particularly in thefields of education and culture, drawing great attention from the publicand promoting the countries’ mutual understanding.

On theoccasion, the association launched a special edition on Vietnam’sagriculture in Vietnamese and French, which covers articles on the twocountries’ relations, agriculture, farming and rural development byVietnamese and French authors.-VNA
