Vientiane (VNA) 🎶– A VHF 10kW television transmitter was handed ove𒈔r to the Lao national television from its Vietnamese counterpart VTV on December 22.

Lao TV Director General Bounchau Phichith said the equipment has been tested smoothly.
He was confident that the advanced piece of technology would increase local television transmission coverage, especially when the 10th Congress of the Lao People’s Revolution Party is approaching. In 2016, Laos will resume the Chair of ASEAN, he noted.
According to Dang Hong Thu, the VTV Technical Transmission and Broadcasting Centre, at a cost of 12 billion VND (532,200 USD), the transmitter can cover an area with a radius of up to 80 kilometres. It uses the liquid cooling system. On the occasion, Lao Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Savakhone Razmontry presented the Labour Order, first class, to the VTV Technical Transmission and Broadcasting Centre for its contribution to Lao television development.-VNA
