Vietnam honours 100 blood donors

A ceremony was held in Hanoi on June 14 to honour 100 dedicated blood donors on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day.
A ceremony was held in Hanoi on June 14 to honour 100 dedicated blood donors on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day. Amongthe 100 honourary attendees, 10 donated their blood between 60 and 96times in 2014, while another 46 gave blood at least 20 times last year.About two dozens donors were recognised for their efforts in calling onhundreds of others to donate.
At the ceremony, Chairman of theCentral Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhanasked local authorities to cooperate more with the health sector and RedCross to increase public awareness about the benefits of blooddonation. Earlier on June 13 a blood donation day called TheKind-hearted Summer was held in Hanoi, collecting a total of 1,500 unitsof blood from volunteers.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
